I really wanted to like this book. Really, I wanted to. The characters
are well-drawn and likeable, if on the
WASP-y side, and the plot is complex and engaging. But the
"Comrade Cosmos" superhero sub-
plot was too "cute-sy" and extraneous, and mystery nut that I
am, I wish the author had spent more
time exploring Percy's motivations or
mindset: He seemed to get short
shift in the novel.
