This is not an easy read as the author uses many phrases either in latin or using the language of the day (16th century). There are occasional flashes of dry wit that had me wishing they would pop up more often.Long passages explain the customs & lifestyles of the time but at the expense of the plot. Interesting take on the early life of Kit Marlowe before he became a playwright and/or spy for the crown. For serious fans of medieval or historical mysteries.
