I wish I'd written Reynje's Goodreads review for The Bridge.
Seriously. Other than the fact that I found the characters and story somewhat more compelling than she did, she says everything I might have hoped to.
Those of you who are used to my verbose reviews in which I say things like, The Bridge is "an intensely thought-provoking novel that tackles head on the issues of war, propaganda, racism and class distinction, and the way political and religious ideology play into conflict," will find this one much more concise than my usual.
Only, don't stop reading now. Follow this link and go see what she has to say about it, then (I hope) you'll find yourself intrigued enough to go read the book.

This was a very good book, although predictable in some aspects.
