"Taggart" is a Scottish police drama that ran for 28 years. Sometimes the accent gets a little away from me but the action is good. I enjoy seeing how the 'other guys' define and handle crime and in the middle of it all you get to see the average people in their daily lives.

Nice complex stories. "Hostile Witness" in particular is one of the best crime stories I have seen and I have seen a great many: Wallander -both Swedish and English, Trial & Retribution, Prime Suspect, Cracker, Rebus, Vera, A Mind To Kill (1st series). Taggart is a great character (in the "old/original" series) as enacted by McManus, iconic, on par with John Thaw's Morse.

I enjoyed the later cast because it had close captioned for the hard of hearing. I had hoped that the earlier Taggart series would have done the same. However, no luck. More and more producers of tv series and movies ae showing either closed captioned or subtitles for their productions. The actors in the later production were great...especially the sometimes scarcastic tone of the female actor. She was alway right on top of what was going on.
