Am I the only one who thinks that Metric is no longer about the group and now about the lead singer? I don't think that's by design but her voice is just so distinctive and desirable to listen to I could easily hear her go out on her own if she has the right songwriter.
Avoiding the sophomore curse (this isn't technically their sophomore album, but I think the term still applies), Metric produces another album full of intelligent, subversive tunes packaged with irresistibly catchy pop hooks.
This is an exceptionally good album. The songs are catchy and powerful.
Very good Metric album. Not as good as the last one though. My problem is that I either loved the song or found it boring. So 1/2 of the tracks I found listening to over and over and the other say, 5 tracks would often skip. But if you like Metric you'll still like this. Looking forward to seeing how it compares to the new Stars album.
Very, good. At first I had doubts, I dont know why. I love their work, and if you love Metric then check this out, and if youre unfamilar with them then check this out and you will not be sorry.
Impressive outing by this unit; Going on the coattails of "Fantasies", once the track Artificial Nocturne got going, the vocals are just THAT alluring to listen to. If you're a fan of the Killers, this is the ticket as the "atmospheric" sound is similar between both groups :-)
