When Jaine's friend surprises her with a trip to The Haven, a deluxe health spa on the California coast, she's eager to hit the road and bask in some serious pampering. It turns out that this oasis in the hills is a fat farm in disguise, complete with celery-juice cocktails, humiliating weigh-ins, and zero tolerance for carbs. As she gets to know her fellow inmates, she realizes 300-calorie dinners aren't the craziest thing she's dealing with.

I really enjoyed this book. It's a mystery with a sense of humor. The lead character, Jaine Austen gets herself involved in a murder mystery at a health spa. And of course, she has her little, crazy cat with her, too.

This is the first one of her books that I read, and found it so enjoyable that I'm going to read the rest of the series.

The books are funny and easy to read.

I’m so glad I live alone. I kept up a running laugh-commentary every time Jaine did something stupid. I think I even may have snorted a couple of times.
