Not the best in this series. The moral/ethical dimension (always an interesting feature of Perry's Victorian novels) is pretty thin. However, I enjoyed getting to know Caroline (Charlotte's mother) better.

Anne Perry writes one of these Christmas books each year and I always take the time to read them. This year, I got the title a bit late, but better late than never. I like the way the author takes characters from her other series titles and works them into these holiday stories. Always a quick, entertaining read.
