Candy Holliday and her father, Henry "Doc" Holliday, are the proprietors of Holliday's Blueberry Acres in the quaint Maine seaside village of Cape Willington. This is a place where locals and tourists alike stroll down Main Street and stop at the diner for a bite to eat - or to catch up on the local news. Everyone in town is working frantically for the annual Lobster Stew Cook-Off - the most important event of the year. Mr. Sedley had given elderly Wilma Mae the secret recipe for the award--winning lobster stew with the explicit instruction to hide it carefully. Wilma Mae swears she did exactly that, but now the recipe is missing!

Candy, the unofficial town sleuth, decides she'll search - and of course, find - the recipe. But instead of finding a recipe for lobster stew, she discovers the body of Mr. Sedley wrapped in a tarp. What started out as a minor problem has turned into a full-blown homicide - and it's up to Candy to find out who in Cape Willington would get steamed enough over lobster stew to kill ...

Most of the book was okay. I skimmed through some of it. Again read this series in order. I started with pumpkin bash and then strawberry swirl so I knew most of what happened in the first and second books. Wild Moose Chase I really did not care for it at all. Will read the next book coming out in February 2015 just to see what happens with the rich families.

This mystery series has a little more depth to them than some of the other cozies. I like the characters. Looking forward to reading the next in the series!
