4 stars based on how much I liked this book in a gossipy escapism sort of way.

I used to generally like the British royals, but after reading this book I feel less inclined to spend my 10 minute coffee breaks at work cruising royal gossip. Basically, the book boils down to a list of social events the royals and Middleton attends, and rates how drunk William and/or Harry became. The boys feel proud to serve in military sectors, but it seems this is the case because Harry was a dummy in school and William just likes to tear shit up.

I initially thought Kate seemed nice enough upon the announcement of the royal engagement, but after reading the book I found a serious lack of personality in Kate - other than what seemed to be her personal mantra that ended up working: "act like them [the royals] and you will become one of them." Stepford wife-ian.

This was a pretty gossipy book and most of it probably isn't true, but it was still an entertaining read!

Andersen's bio on William and Kate got me up to speed on the wedding. It was excellent back-ground reading. I found that it spent quite a bit of time on Diana which of course was interesting but also tangential to William and Kate. Andersen's sources seemed to be William and Kate's night-club crowd. We get the names of a lot of cocktails. On the other hand, we don't really get that much on the non-nightclub life of the two. Overall, William and Kate: A Royal Love Story was an entertaining read.

This wasn't the best royal biography I have read, but it was OK. As with anything ever written about Prince William this book begins by recounting the marriage of Charles and Diana, William and Harry's early childhood, their divorce, and her tragic death, however, it seemed like it spent much more time on that than it should have considering it's called "William and Kate". I also didn't like how obvious it was that the author knew nothing about Kate's early childhood other than straightforward facts such as where she went to school. But rather than simply owning up to not knowing her story the author made up far fetched situations of Kate pining for William and being jealous of his girlfriends far before they ever met. My final criticism is that it didn't read like a story so much as it was an ordered list of facts. Perhaps more time could have been spent to create some sort of flow between the passages.

one of the most slanted books I have ever read. I thought I was reading about Will and Kate instead I get a rabid discourse on Charles and the Royal family and the ditz of Diana...I thought she was out of the picture?

Okay here we go. In a world seemingly gone mad, let's have a jolly good royal wedding. Something to celebrate for a change!
