This is a fantastic new illustrated collection of the well-known Greek myths (as well as a few of the lesser-known ones) full of gods, monsters, heroes and adventure. It contains famous myths such as The Trojan Horse , Jason and the Golden Fleece , Icarus , Pandora's Box , and Odysseus . It includes a fully illustrated glossary explaining the characters and places, a name pronunciation guide and maps of the adventurers' journeys through Ancient Greece. It is written in an engaging style, with notes in the margins about different monsters and mythological details.

For kids, if you want a shorter version, D'Aulaire's Book of Greek Myths is the pick. If you do not mind a slightly longer version, The Usborne Book of Greek Myths is a lot better.

A good counterpart to the D'Aulaire book on Greek mythology, this one leans towards children's level storytelling as well, and concentrates more on heroes than on the gods. The inclusion of the Eros and Psyche story is a welcome one in particular.
