These are the four library owned books I've found best for mountain bike maintenance, ordered in increasing order of complexity; i.e. the first in the list is a good one for beginners who want to start doing some of their own routine maintenance; the books after that are better for intermediate and experts who want to do more complicated procedures, like updating to newer drive train or wheel components and wheel building.

1. Van der Plas, "Mountain Bike Maintenance: How to maintain and repair your mountain bike, 2006"; 2. Allwood, Melanie, "Maintaining Mountain Bikes : The Do-it-yourself Guide, 2010"; 3. Downs, Todd, "The Bicycling Guide to Complete Bicycle Maintenance & Repair: For Road & Mountain Bikes, 2010"; 4.Zinn, Lennard, " Zinn & the Art of Mountain Bike Maintenance, 2005".
