Perfect Plant, Perfect Place --- by Roy Lancaster --- Over four hundred pages long and loaded with lots of colour pictures, this book, big enough to make a cocktail table book (but how many people with cocktail tables are likely to get their fingers dirty in the garden --- but I digress) this volume, many of perennials, is organized not according to colour or blooming time (although there is some of this too) but according to other criteria”: grasses and sedges; conifers for heavy clay soils; shrubs tolerant of coastal exposure; and perennials with aromatic leaves. This book is going to be the answer to many a gardener’s questions and it deserves a good look.

I found this book to be very helpful and insightful. It offered many visuals and divided the chapters in useful segments, ie house plants, hedges, small trees, etc. It is a great reference book.
