As bad as Micharel says (see below).
I'm a huge bollywood fan, and I wouldn't rate this as a great representation of the best bollywood has to offer. The costumes were poor, the action was unbelievable - at times bordering on silly, and I didn't like the attempt at adding some English to the songs. That said, there were some fun plot twists, like how Veer gets Yasho to publicly confess her love. I must admit, although there was some eye-rolling on my part, I still enjoyed it.
Well written script. Very well directed and performed.
I went looking for an engaging war movie - with great battle scenes, etc. The ominous look in the eye of the Pindari clan warrior, VEER - found on the dvd cover - sure suggested that! Instead, I got a standard-fair Bollywood flic with music, singing and dancing. That made it hard to take this film seriously as a battle-bash! The British are the bad guys for a change - that seemed promising - but the seriously flawed staged combat and the silliness of some of the characters, ostensibly injected for comic relief, made it all a waste of time, in the end. This ain't JET LI in WARLORDS!
