Turow clearly works really hard to research and plot his books. His writing and psychological insights are first-class, especially with regard to the male characters: Father-son relationships; mentor-mentee relationships. Nemesis relationships.

I personally found the woman actor's voice on this recording off-putting. The man's portrayal of all characters was, on the other hand, fabulous.

This book is the sequel to "Presumed Innocent" written in 1987. Just as it often is with movie sequels, this was was not nearly as good as the first book, although the narrators were outstanding, especially with voice inflection, and accents ( narrated by Edward Herrmann and Orlagh Cassidy ). Turow does tie it up well at the end.

I did not care for most of this story. While there are some good parts, it is generally an unsatisfying novel in my opinion. 3 of 10 stars
