I just retired. Of the books I have read about planning your retirement (3), this was by far the best. This is a comprehensive look at retirement planning, with exercises to complete. I think the authors do a great job of summarizing social science/psychological/medical/financial research about retirement. Doing the exercises was really helpful to clarify my interests, strengths, and priorities.

I've seen several books of financial planning for retirement, but this one is a nice holistic view of how to plan for retirement.

It focuses on early retirement where I will hopefully have several years of happy, active and meaningful life.
