A good introduction into how life can be for women under Taliban rule. An eye-opener. The story wraps up in a hopeful way that doesn't quite ring true, but as this is a fictional work - why not!

Told from the viewpoint of a young girl, these three novels take place in Afghanistan during Taliban rule and the war that follows. This is a poignant story of life during an oppressive regime.
