I probably enjoyed this book the most so far in the series. I'm not a big fan of how Lindsay portrays the women in his stories. Deb is reflected as overcompensating and with an annoying and needy personality and Rita is a needy and whiny personality. Both characters are minimal in this book, I think that's why I enjoyed it the most thus far in the series - yet both are main characters in the plot lines. I hope the rest of the series develops these characters stronger or continue keeping them minimal and focus on Dexter and his "adventures".

It would appear the Dexter phenomenon has run its course with this installment. Tame, lame and too much emphasis on kids and family compared to Dexter predecessors. Perhaps Showtime will do a better job than the book. 2 of 10 stars
