This is a very good story and keeps you wondering till the end what Timmerman was doing out at night with a burlap sack and a shovel . This a wait-and-see tale that is a charming blend of mystery , perceptions , friendship and trusting your instincts . The end result will be a touching surprise just as the end of this story is .

This is a great story all about trusting one's instincts, avoiding bullying, and standing up for what - or who - one believes in. An inspirational and sweet story that is also beautifully illustrated, this book is classic.

This is a fantastic book that challenges the reader to forget preconcieved notions about someone or to blindly follow what everyone else believes and to follow your own beliefs instead.

This is a book that can be enjoyed by children of all ages as the lesson being taught is universal and timeless.

This book can be shared in the classroom as a read aloud to Div. I students and for Div. II students it is a fantastic book to have discussions about acceptance of others and holding to one's beliefs when everyone else believes in something else.
