This is an excellent book on everything wine. It appears daunting at over 350 pages, but is very readable. Organized by regions, each section focusses on the grapes, the wines, the different styles, as well as top producers. One can glean as little or as much information as personally relevant. Throughout the book, sidebar comments include interesting or pertinent facts about wine and wine fundamentals. This is perhaps the best textbook for a comprehensive overview and in-depth study on wines currently available.
