Loved this story of a strong English woman, Penelope Stern, and her relationships with the men and children in her life. Penelope is a woman to emulate!

A touching story. The main character reminded me of my mother who lived her life for her children. She had her own definition for luxury and happiness. I miss her so much.

Great story about a woman that tells of her life from WWII through the 80's. She has three adult children, that many of us can relate to I'm sure. I loved the part that took us back to her life during the war when she met the love of her life.

I found some sentences and parts rather cutesy/predictable
but otherwise an enjoyable tale
