This is a an episode that will make you want to start at the beginning of of the series and follow along with the map. The villages in this series are spectacular along with trying to figure out who did it.

In "Death of a hollow man" we get an early view of a much younger Joyce, before letting her hair just hang short and straight, like a doll, and a very young Cally. The great line by Tom ends the episode: "Can you believe anyone would commit murder for the sake of the theatre?". This early Midsomer Murders is not the best performance because the main characters haze their later delineations.
