I love beeing fooled by a mystery / thriller and I certainly was by the beginning of this book. I am not a huge fan of terorist activity themes, but I enjoyed the characters. Kristi & Abby Tabby

2019-08-14: Had to return, did not read. April 2, 2021: Good read, would read other books by this author.

I skimmed over this book. It's all over the place, I found the writing to be juvenile. The story didnt draw me in, it felt immature and just thrown together. The book ends on an unrealistic note. A total snoozefest.

This book seems to be getting mixed reviews. I must say I had a difficult time with the first part but after that I was really hooked. The ending was a bit unrealistic but it worked. I enjoyed the book so if you like Lisa Scottoline, I…

There are three sections to this fast-paced thriller. I had a difficult time with the first section. It was interesting but I was getting frustrated because I didn't know where the story was heading. The second section completely changed…

It starts with the main character sounding like a bad guy & I'm wondering how he's going to get caught. But then, he turns out to be a good guy. What happened in the middle ? The storyline doesn't jive.

Thought Part 1 was intriguing, but by the ending I was disappointed by the far fetched implausibility of how the book ended.

This was a quick read, but I wouldn't spend my time on it if I could have a "do over." It was truly written for those that have mastered suspension of disbelief when reading.

Do NOT waste your time on this book. I couldn't even finish it.... One of the worst books I have ever read.....

One of the worst books I have ever read. Totally far fetched plots and poorly written with excessive descriptions.

Part 1 was exciting and then I hit Part 2 and was REALLY????? I decided to plow through even though I was disappointed. While it didn't keep me glued to the story or on the edge of my seat, it did keep me turning the pages.

The story races along at breakneck speed, making you want to turn the pages faster to find out what happens. Despite some obvious gaping holes in the plot, it was a very good read!

The book began well but but the author did no stay true to the theme. After the plot was revealed, the story went downhill and was never actually resolved. The dialogue was forced and didn't add anything to the story.

Rented this because I've thoroughly enjoyed Scottoline's books. It began and continued to be an engrossing story. The plot and characters came alive and I found it to be a real page-turner! Without wanting to give anything away, I…

At first, it was enjoyable reading about Chris turning up at a secondary school to teach and to coach, and reading about 3 varying families whose sons were in Chris's class, but then I wondered where is the plot? Half way through the book,…

One of the worst books I've ever read, halfway through the main character goes through an one eighty degree change in character. It is like a new author took over, writing not good enough to carry this off.

The good news first, this book drew me in then threw a plot twist at me and then kept me on the edge of my seat. It is difficult to combine a thriller and a family social drama in one book and Scottoline did it well. The main plot points…

I love this author and her books! This one was particularly interesting in that it provided twists and turns that were completely unexpected. Not to give away too much of the plot, but the main character was less than lovable until…

So I was part way through this story and was thinking I’d have to start over again as I was sure I had missed something because this paper perfect character, Chris Brennan, is just too perfect and he is hiding something and I couldn’t…

"One Perfect Lie" is that unique combination of a thriller and a family drama. The family scenes were heart rending and the red herrings in the thriller component were believable. Would recommend this book strongly.
