Nefertiti the elder sister weds the young Pharaoh, and her younger sister Mutnodjmet (Mutny )goes along with her. In this book titled, Nefertiti I would say Mutny plays an important role and stands up to her elder sister when she falls in…

I read this for the "About A World Leader" part of my 2020 reading challenge. I really enjoyed it, the characters were interesting and easy to tell apart, and the world was easy to visualize. Plot-wise it did feel a little rushed and it…

I enjoyed this historical fiction, and this was no exception. Told by Nefertiti’s half-sister, it is the story of how Nefertiti gained power, and then lost her life. The end papers explain how we know about Nefertiti and her life. I look…

The book seems pretty historically accurate as the plot and characters seem realistic and not exaggerated. It is a bit boring at times but the description of the settings were very vivid.

Michelle Moran's first novel explores the intertwined lives of two sisters, Nefertiti, wife of Pharaoh Amunhotep IV, and Mutnodjment, wife of General Nakhtmin in Egypt's 18th Dynasty (1351 BCE). As Nefertiti rises to power, her sister…

This is one of my favorite books so my review might be a little bias. I find the characters develop amazingly throughout the book! Though there are some slow parts in the book, it is mostly filled with action, and determination. It is a…

I have read many novels about Nefertiti, and I liked that this one was told from the perspective of her sister, Mutnodjomet. This author writes excellent historical fiction!

Entertaining, with lots of dialogue and some interesting details on life in ancient Egypt. However, the first part of the book dragged a bit. The characters were also very one-dimensional.

An easy and interesting read on Nefertiti's life from her sisters point of view. Lovely details and an imaginative take on an era we can only gues at.

boring, no real plot, and the whole story is about Nefertiti's sister...not Nefertiti. It does get better in the last 100 pages, but seriously? I would not recommend reading the first hundred just to get to it.

An easy and interesting read, well written but not in the same class as Phillipa Gregory.

This is the story of Nefertiti and her life with Amunhotep but it is told more from the point of view of her younger sister, Mutnodjmet. You get to see a more personal view of the history of a very interesting time. It was a time of…

I thought this was excellently done. Retelling the story of Nefertiti, but from the point of view of her sister. I didn't find Nefertiti a particularly sympathetic character. An easy and enjoyable read, and I think she put a lot of work…
